![]() Tremor totems on Onyxia, Magmadar (for the dps at the back), etc. No encounters that are easier with Shaman? We virtually can't do Mar'li without (ok, so it's not the hardest ever fight once you're BWL geared, but Shaman (poison cleansing totem) mean that Melee can actually make the fight a lot shorter). while there are currently no encounters in the game that are easier with Shaman or take advantage of the Shaman's unique skills But that's more down to the design of the encounters than it is to any inherent limitations or liabilities the class has, even though they do very much exist. So Shaman are in need of a talent review, yes. So why the fuck design encounters that are hinged on dealing with fears? The same applies to Fear Ward - it's only an advantage so long as bosses fear. Now almost all of these issues (not all) could have been dealt with by designing encounters in a way that equally benefits Paladins and Shaman, something that is never done. A Pala call means that everyone can regen some mana and bandage. I'm not including Razorgore here, as "kill 'em all" is a better technique than kiting.Īnd the lack of balance between Palas and Shaman on Nef is also huge. Battleguard Satura is made easier for the Alliance through her susceptability to a specific Paladin only ability, while there are currently no encounters in the game that are easier with Shaman or take advantage of the Shaman's unique skills. Use of any totems at all on the Twin Emperors is an instant wipe. In Raid situations, particularly on the large, moving, multi mob encounters in AQ 40 they are not just underpowered and limited, thay are actually dangerous. Shaman are perfectly fine, exactly how they are in 5 man groups. Your experience in AQ is really showing through here James! Once the super high 'endgame' 5 and 10 man instances come in though, again, Shamans will be relatively 'better'.ĮDIT: being stupid about Paladin stacking again. PvE, yes Paladins are completely ace too, and the totem system will undoubtedly get an overhaul for raids soon. I sort of accidentally claimed that Shamans were better PvE- I don't actually think that, but I do still think Shaman are ace. Paladins are, in fact, better, PvP, played properly. Sith said "Shamans are better PvP", that's the bit I was initially contesting. Secondly, Everyone has kinda completely misinterpreted what I was saying. I was just making a general point that they're pretty useful. Obviously it depends on the balance of tank/raid healing requried, blah-di-blah. When Shamie first got 5/8 EF and Dream shouted at him for not healing enough, the next MC he was right at the top In fact they're consistently at the bottom. ![]() We must be going on different raids, our shamans are NEVER top of the healing meters. ![]()
